Kentucky Medicaid’s Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment (EPSDT) Special Services program provides medically necessary health care for Medicaid members under age 21 even when the service is not otherwise covered under Kentucky’s standard state plan. This includes physical health services, behavioral health services, physical therapy, occupational therapy, AAC/speech-generating devices, care coordination, dental, nursing facilities, psychiatric care, medical equipment, and other developmental or specialty services.
